An early injury setback for St George Illawarra ahead of Friday night's NRL semi-final against Manly in Sydney.
Star centre Mark Gasnier has been ruled out with a corked hip and minor strain to the hip flexor muscle.
He underwent scans yesterday after being forced from the field during last Saturday night's qualifying final win over Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium.
Gasnier had hoped to be given until kick-off to prove his fitness but club doctors have decided to err on the side of caution.
