Report: Canucks re-sign veteran C Linden to one-year deal
TORONTO - The Vancouver Canucks re-signed veteran center Trevor Linden to a one-year contract Monday, according to a report on TSN of Canada's website.
The deal reportedly is worth $600,000 with another $200,000 available in bonuses.
Linden, 36, has spent 14 of his 17 NHL seasons with the Canucks, including each of the last four campaigns.
He no longer is an offensive factor, managing just seven goals and nine assists in 2005-06, but he did have a plus-3 rating while playing all 82 games for the second straight season.
The second overall pick in the 1988 draft, Linden has appeared in 1,243 career games with the Canucks, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals. He has collected 356 goals and 474 assists, including career highs of 33 goals and 47 assists in the 1995-96 season.
