A group of Indian martial arts experts visited the Shaolin Temple in China to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Members of the Nithya Chaithanya Kalari, a martial arts training centre from India, displayed their skills in the ancient art form of Kalaripayattu, while young Shaolin monks also displayed their Kung Fu skills.

    S. Jaishankar, India's Ambassador to China, said that it was a way to strengthen the relations between the two countries.

"This is part of the festival of India which will be visiting more than 30 Chinese cities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of our diplomatic relations. Sixty years ago, India and China both took control over their own destiny and stood together on many common issues," said Jaishankar.

The ambassador also said that he hoped that the visit would begin a sustained relationship between the two countries.

He added that the relationship between India and China is actually 2000 years old, as India and China has met in Shaolin over the centuries. (ANI)
