The Minnesota Twins have invited 15 players to join them at their Spring Training camp.
The list of non-roster invitees includes pitchers Rickey Barrett, Glen Perkins, Dennys Reyes, and Gabe White; catchers Kyle Geiger, Kyle Phillips and Shawn Wooten; infielders Jason Hart, Luis Maza, Tommy Watkins and Glenn Williams; and outfielders Josh Rabe, Denard Span, Andres Torres and Jason Tyner.
Reyes and White will give the Twins two left-handers with Major League experience to compete for the spot in the bullpen left open when Minnesota traded J.C. Romero to the Angels. Signed to a Minor League contract on Dec. 27, Reyes went 3-2 with a 5.15 ERA in 36 games for the Padres last season. He was released by the club in July. The Twins inked White to a Minor League contract on Jan. 4. White took to the mound in six games for the Cardinals, going 0-0 with a 2.16 ERA before being designated for assignment in June.
Both Williams and Tyner saw action for the Twins last season. The two players spent most of the season at Triple-A Rochester but had their share of success when called up. Tyner batted .321 with one double, one triple and five RBIs in 18 games with Minnesota in 2005. Williams hit .425 with one double and three RBIs in 13 games.
Twins catchers and pitchers report to Spring Training in Fort Myers, Fla., on Feb. 19, while position players report Feb. 24. The first full-squad workout will take place on Feb. 25.
