Top court denies appeal in murder case

JUSTICE REPORTER — An man whose murder conviction hinged on a bloody shoeprint will serve out the life sentence he was given in 2000, after the Supreme Court of Canada refused yesterday to hear his appeal. The court, which hears cases primarily based on their national importance, refused David Scott Hall leave to appeal his conviction for murdering his second cousin's wife, Peggy Jo Barkley-Dube.
