    (IANS)

Two nurses in China have given away their 100,000 yuan (over $15,700) reward, earned for tipping off police about a suspect in a bank blast, for the welfare of its victims and local Fund for Justice and Courage.

The two nurses -- Chen Libinj,31, and Zhang Liping, 26 -- have offered 30,000 yuan each to the families of two people who were killed in the explosion. The remaining 40,000 yuan was donated Monday to the Fund for Justice and Courage in Hubei province, where the explosion occurred, Xinhua reported.

The blast had occurred earlier this month.

Police gave the reward to Chen and Zhang Friday night after apprehending the blast suspect.

The nurses said as they believed helping the police was the responsibility of every citizen, it made them to donate their reward money.

The two called the police after realising that one of their patients resembled Wang Haijian, a man who was wanted by police in connection with the blast.

Wang, 24, is believed to be responsible for the explosion that occurred outside a branch of the China Construction Bank Dec 1 in the Hongshan district of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei. The blast killed two people and left 15 others injured.
