Russian, Turkmen presidents discuss bilateral cooperation

MOSCOW, February 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov discussed over the phone the issues of bilateral cooperation, the Kremlin press office said Sunday.

During the conversation initiated by the Russian side, Putin congratulated Niyazov with his birthday. Both presidents said they were satisfied with progress in the implementation of the accords reached at the Russian-Turkmen summit in Moscow in January this year.

Putin and Niyazov discussed interaction in various spheres of cooperation, including the fuel and energy sector.
